Catherine Crystal Foster

Catherine has focused her career on bringing high-impact ideas to life and supporting inspired changemakers. She currently advises families and funders on philanthropic strategy and grantmaking. Catherine’s experience includes leadership at Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, founding a Silicon Valley-focused philanthropy innovation initiative, directing a family foundation, scaling an education nonprofit, authoring welfare legislation for the District of Columbia, and directing a national children’s policy advocacy program.

Her social sector leadership has been recognized by Inside Philanthropy, the Silicon Valley Business Journal, and the Chronicle of Philanthropy.

An active community volunteer and board member, Catherine finds joy in applying her philanthropic and legal experience to help accelerate Bay Area nonprofits
