Suhani Mohan serves as SV2’s Director of Impact Investing, working closely with our Donor Partner community and Investment Committee to identify strong investments for SV2’s portfolio and offering support to our Impact Investees. She represents SV2 in the broader impact investing ecosystem, building our partnerships and growing our practice. Previously, Suhani led the Environment Fund at ACT Capital Foundation, investing in early-stage sustainability startups. She also worked in energy and climate investing at Energy Innovation Capital and in strategic equity transactions at Deutsche Bank across Americas, Asia and Europe.
A former social entrepreneur herself, Suhani was the co-founder and former CEO of Saral Designs, a hardware social enterprise that developed the world’s first decentralized sanitary pad-making machine. She scaled the technology to 150+ entrepreneurs across Asia and Africa, improving access to menstrual hygiene for over a million menstruators.
Suhani is passionate about supporting visionary founders working in climate, health, education and financial inclusion. She believes that the world’s toughest social challenges can be solved at the intersection of empathy, technology and innovation. Suhani holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, a degree in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science from IIT Bombay with a minor in Electrical Engineering, and is a CFA Level 1. A two-time TEDx speaker and founding convener of the Bay Area South Asians Climate Association (BASACA), Suhani is committed to building communities that accelerate climate and social impact.
