SV2 Nonprofit Grantees
Twice a year, SV2 goes through a rigorous process to award unrestricted three-year grants to two Bay Area nonprofits. So at any given time, we are actively supporting 12 organizations with funds and also with the expertise of Donor Partners who work with them side-by-side. We seek out dynamic and growing organizations tackling our community’s biggest challenges, with an emphasis on those led people of color representative of the communities they serve. Here are our 12 current Grantees.
Ambition Angels
We leverage technology to empower teens to develop themselves through our high-quality, gamified curriculum – all in their native digital language – on an app. Students have the autonomy to choose from a library of bite-sized, culturally relevant content on topics like managing stress, financial literacy, and time and task management; skills critical to thriving, but that aren’t taught in schools.

Ayudando Latinos A Soñar
ALAS is committed to working with and for children, youth, families, farmworkers, asylum seekers, seniors, and our general Coastside community. Our programs have grown to include culturally-centered mental health services, wrap-around case management, immigration, and education, as well as our social justice advocacy initiatives.

Fortitude Careers
Fortitude Careers’ mission statement: Fortitude exists to empower young adults to build successful careers in the construction industry through hands-on training, mentorship, and life mastery development.

Friends for Youth
Friends for Youth safely and expertly matches adult volunteers with youth who need support through our two mentoring programs: 1-to-1 Mentoring and School-Based, Group Mentoring. Mentors are matched with local youth who are facing significant challenges in their young lives.

Learning Home Volunteers
Learning Home Volunteers works with low-income families with children ages 18-months thru 5 years old. We help bring play and learning into their home and help them transform their home into a learning home and prepare their child for success in school. Through your generous donations, we are able to offer our program free to participants.

Multicultural Institute
Multicultural Institute (MI) helps society transition immigrants from poverty and isolation to prosperity and participation. MI’s programs enhance educational, economic, and health opportunities, cultivate leadership development, and stimulate positive transformation of individuals, families, and communities.

MyPath’s mission statement: MyPath builds real economic power at scale, with financial capability and youth leadership at the core.

Oasis Legal Services
Oasis Legal Services empowers low-income LGBTQ+ immigrants who have survived violence and persecution due to their sexuality, gender identity, and/or HIV status by increasing access to quality, culturally responsive legal representation and social services.

Parent Voices
Through grassroots organizing and leadership development, we activate and center the wisdom of parents to transform child care and ensure all systems that impact our families are just, fair, and inclusive.

PODER
PODER organizes with Latinx immigrant families and youth to put into practice people-powered solutions that are locally based, community led and environmentally just. We nurture everyday people’s leadership, regenerate culture, and build community power.

The José Valdés Math Institute
The Valdés Math™ programs provides a full year of math during the summer, as well as free, year-round tutoring. The ultimate goal is for our students to pass Calculus successfully before graduation from high school. The José Valdés Math Institute™ Curriculum is aligned to California Common Core Standards for Mathematics.
