A Discussion with Phil Buchanan, President of the Center for Effective Philanthropy

The need for effective giving is greater than ever to address today’s pressing issues. Yet giving is uniquely challenging, and philanthropy has come under increasing criticism. Questions include: How can I effectively channel my giving to make the greatest difference? How should I think about giving in the current context of skepticism about major donors and philanthropy?

Join us for a special evening of conversation with Phil Buchanan, president of the Center for Effective Philanthropy, and author of the recently released book Giving Done Right: Effective Philanthropy and Making Every Dollar Count. Phil will share lessons learned and common pitfalls of effective giving based on nearly twenty years of experience working with some of the largest individual givers and foundations. He will provide practical advice and real-life examples, and answer your specific questions. Copies of the book will also be available.

Whether a new or experienced giver, we invite you to join us to deepen your understanding of effective giving practices that will amplify your impact.  Dinner served at 6:45 pm. Program starts at 7:00 pm.
