Literacy for Environmental Justice (LEJ): Hands on the Land Family Workday

Our day will begin with an overview of LEJ’s Urban Greening Grant project. Then we’ll dig in to plant hundreds of native plant species at the future Sunrise Point campsite that LEJ is currently constructing. The native plants that we’ll help to install are grown in LEJ’s community-based nursery.

This ‘Hands on the Land’ day is a great way to participate in a community-based approach to restore ecological and public health. All ages are welcome!

Suggested dress code is layered outdoor clothing, with closed-toed shoes. Hats and refillable water bottles are strongly encouraged. And if you have work gloves, feel free to bring them.
Lunch will be offered by LEJ. If you’d like to contribute, please consider bringing fruit, cookies or drinks to share with the whole group.
