Jan Half

Jan grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, and upon graduating from Northwestern University in 1975,
began her 40-year career as a middle school teacher in rural Illinois. She received her Masters
in Career and Adult Education, and then moved on to School/Business Partnership Manager
positions with nonprofits in Illinois and in California. Jan spent the next 30 years in technology,
working with California schools and companies. Jan founded and was Executive Director, for 12
years, of the MOUSE Squad Student Tech Leadership non-profit.

Before retiring in 2015, Jan was on the boards of various educational nonprofits. Jan continues
to be active with the San Francisco Bay Area Northwestern Alumni Leadership and Admissions
Councils. She is a Full Circle Fund (FCF) member as well as Silicon Valley Social Venture
Fund (SV2) partner.
