Amplify Impact 2026: Why We Invested in Supply Change Capital and Portfolia

Published On: October 1, 2026

This year, SV2 launched Amplify Impact, a round dedicated to investing in impact funds because a single commitment placed with the right fund manager reaches dozens of founders and multiplies what our partnership can do.

What made the round special was how it ran. Dozens of SV2 donor partners rolled up their sleeves: nominating funds, building the screening criteria, reading data rooms, writing question banks, sitting across from General Partners and asking hard questions. We ran full diligence on four exceptional funds, and the honest truth is that every one of them taught us something about fee structures, about what real impact measurement looks like, about how a fund’s thesis holds up under pressure. “Immersive Learning” is one of our pillars. At SV2, learning as investors is just as much the point as the dollars we deploy.

Through this process, we are proud to invest $50,000 each to Supply Change Capital Fund and Portfolia.

Supply Change Capital: a sharp thesis on the most under-digitized system we all depend on

Food is a multi-trillion-dollar system, and it is still one of the least technologically modernized. That gap is where emissions hide, where waste accumulates, and where the nutritional quality of what ends up on our plates gets decided.

Supply Change Capital invests across that supply chain: logistics and automation, predictive tools, ingredient intelligence, alternative proteins and inputs, food safety and traceability. The thesis is focused, and it is one the team has deep industry networks equipping them to support the founders “Beyond-the-dollar”.

What we find compelling is that climate and health are built into the thesis itself: the same investments that modernize the food system are the ones that cut emissions and improve what ends up on our plates. Supply Change makes that commitment concrete: impact metrics are written into its investment terms and reported against annually.

Portfolia: changing who the founders are, and who the investors are

Portfolia backs exceptional companies serving fast-growing, chronically underestimated US markets: healthcare, fintech, edtech and consumer businesses reaching communities with enormous and rising spending power.

The reason Portfolia stood out in diligence is the second thing it’s doing.

Venture capital has long been a closed room. Portfolia pried it open. More than 2,000 Limited Partners across 48 states and 20 countries, overwhelmingly women, invest through its funds, sit in on pitch calls, contribute domain expertise to diligence, and learn the craft of venture investing by practicing it. Capital and knowledge move at the same time. That is a structural intervention in who gets to allocate capital in this country, not just who receives it.

It’s also the model SV2 practices. We bring Bay Area givers together and to collaborate on: sourcing, diligence, sitting across from managers, making the call as a group.

Amplifying impact

We are proud to back both of these teams, and thankful for the SV2 Partners who participated. As we learn, we will keep broadening how and where we invest and keep amplifying the impact our Partners can have together.
