At Meeting #4, Partners will discuss the five applicant organizations using SV2’s rubric categories (in breakout groups and as a whole group), and make grant decisions. Two organizations will receive 3-year grants of $80,000 each. Note that for this grant decision meeting, Partners must be present at the Zoom meeting to vote.
About the Grant Round:
Between August – December 2022, Partners will learn about climate justice and practice trust-based philanthropy, get to know five organizations, discern which two organizations SV2 can best support as Community Partner Grantees, and make two unrestricted 3-year grants of $80,000 each. SV2 will also offer the selected organizations beyond-the-dollars support as helpful and friendship!

Our grantmaking and community engagement will advance climate justice. This can include supporting frontline communities in building resilience to climate change, addressing environmental consequences of our fossil fuel economy, and providing benefits from the transition economy. As an initial part of our Climate Justice Grant Round, SV2 is connecting with community changemakers to understand what climate justice in the Bay Area means, community strengths and challenges, and the opportunities to make an impact. We’re learning these opportunities include frontline communities addressing causes of injustice and leading positive change, supporting equitable access to solutions and resources, and ensuring that diverse perspectives contribute to driving policy and advocacy.

You will receive confirmation emails from Eventbrite 48 hours before the event, 2 hours before the event, and as the event begins. In any of these confirmation emails, click the orange “View the event” box. This will take you to a screen with an orange “Join now” button. Click on the button.
