Participants in this interactive workshop will have the opportunity to take a first look at Stanford PACS’s latest resource: The Guide to Effective Philanthropy beta. The Guide—written for the individual donor earlier on in their philanthropic career—covers best practices in strategic philanthropy including help in designing strategy, selecting a giving vehicle, finding and vetting nonprofits, managing relationships with grantees, and evaluating impact. This workshop will feature a lively, design-thinking feedback exercise, as well as interaction with your peers around best practices. This is a chance to interact directly with the team behind the Guide and influence the content of this important publication. Erinn Andrews, Director of the Effective Philanthropy Learning Initiative at Stanford PACS will be leading this session with the support of other EPLI team members. Participants will be assigned a few chapters to read from the Guide in advance. Lunch served at 11:15. Program begins at 11:30am.
