It is human activity that created the climate crisis and it is human ingenuity that will help us get through it. Venture capital finances innovation, and innovation is needed if we are to keep warming to 1.5 degrees C. What are the most promising solutions on the horizon? What are the critical funding gaps? Where should impact first investors be looking? Where should financially driven climate funders be looking? What are some inspiring successes we’ve already seen? This session will answer these questions and more.
Our distinguished panel includes industry experts, all of whom have experience in both the for profit, as well as the non profit, climate investing space: Amy Duffuor, General Partner of Azolla Ventures (founded by Prime Coalition); Amy Francetic, the co-founder and Managing Director of Buoyant Ventures and co-founder and former CEO of Evergreen Climate Innovations accelerator; and Sophie Purdom the co-founder and author of the Climate Tech VC weekly newsletter, and the co-founder of Kula Bio (sustainable nitrogen fertilizer).
This is the fourth session in our series on Investing in Climate Solutions. Previous sessions have provided an overview of investing in climate solutions using the Project Drawdown framework, discussed public investments, and covered how the transformation to a green infrastructure will create opportunities investing in real assets.
